Job description
As a Paint & Roto Artist at connectlifevfx, you will play a critical role in
ensuring the smooth integration of visual effects by preparing and enhancing footage
for post-production. This position requires a meticulous eye for detail and proficiency
in removing unwanted elements, tracking, compositing, and creating mattes. You will
collaborate with the VFX Supervisor, Compositors, and other artists to deliver
seamless visual effects.
Responsibilities:
- Create clean plates by removing wires, rigs, and other unwanted objects from footage.
- Perform rotoscoping to generate mattes for characters, objects, or effects.
- Work closely with compositors to ensure seamless integration of effects into live-action
footage.
- Maintain quality standards, ensuring consistent attention to detail
and visual accuracy.
- Work with tracking data to ensure the correct application of roto and paint elements.
- Collaborate with supervisors to meet project deadlines and address feedback.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and other departments throughout the
project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Paint & Roto Artist in a VFX or post-production environment.
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Nuke, Silhouette, Mocha, or similar software.
- Strong understanding of rotoscoping techniques and 2D/3D tracking.
- Ability to work with fine detail, ensuring smooth and accurate results in roto and paint tasks.
- Ability to collaborate with a team and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- A portfolio showcasing relevant roto and paint work is a must.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with compositing is a plus.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling or animation is beneficial.
- Familiarity with high-end VFX pipelines.
