Job description



The VFX Team Lead plays a crucial role in guiding a team of talented artists to deliver top-quality visual effects across projects. This position involves hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and project coordination to ensure that each stage of the VFX pipeline runs smoothly and meets high standards. The VFX Team Lead oversees the production process, provides technical direction, and mentors artists, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Working closely with departments such as compositing, animation, and effects, the VFX Team Lead ensures that creative and technical goals align to achieve the project’s vision.

Responsibilities:



  • Guide, mentor, and support VFX artists to develop their skills and deliver exceptional work.
  • Manage production schedules, set milestones, and ensure team efforts align with deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Provide technical guidance on best practices, troubleshoot issues, and help develop solutions within the VFX pipeline.
  • Oversee the review process, ensuring all VFX deliverables meet high visual standards and creative intent.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to maintain a cohesive vision and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Communicate project updates and deliverables to clients, addressing feedback and managing expectations.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Effects, Digital Arts, Animation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in VFX production, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing VFX projects.
  • Proficiency in VFX software (Maya, Nuke, Houdini, etc.) and a strong understanding of VFX pipelines, compositing, and rendering.
  • Experience in scheduling, managing resources, and meeting tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of VFX artists.
  • Deep understanding of VFX techniques, including animation, texturing, lighting, and color grading.
  • Ability to handle changing client demands and shifting project requirements efficiently.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality standards across all VFX deliverables.
  • Effective at working with multiple departments to align on technical and creative goals.
